Alvie C. Brumley, age 84, of Somerset, departed this life on Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2012 at his residence.
Mr. Brumley was born on July 7, 1928 in Jamestown, Ky. to the late Ruel Herbert and Ethel Pearl Smith Brumley. He was a United States Army veteran of the Korean War, truck driver for Midstate Automotive, and a member of the Cedar Grove Baptist Church.
Mr. Brumley married Ethel Malicote Brumley on Aug. 3, 1955 in Jeffersonville, Ind. and she survives him.
Along with his wife, he is survived by two sons, Alvin Eugene (and Kim) Brumley of Somerset and Johnny Clifton (and Sue) Brumley of Georgetown, Ky.; and eight grandchildren, Alison Baumgardner, Jennifer Merrick, Crystal Moran, Clayton Brumley, Greg Brumley, Justin Brumley, Dalton Brumley, and Jordan Brumley; and great-grandchildren, Hunter Merrick, Harrison Merrick, Hagan Merrick, Haven Merrick, Ryan Hutchison, Mylan Baumgardner, Skylen Brumley, Keaton Brumley, Grayson Moran, Micah Riddle, Nathan Riddle, Benjamin Riddle, Taylor Baumgardner, Kalli Baumgardner, and Katie Moran.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Frankie Dean Brumley; a daughter, Carolyn Sue Brumley; and a brother, Herbert L. Brumley.
Visitation for Mr. Brumley will be Thursday, Sept. 27 at 5 p.m. at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home, 1046 West Highway 80, Somerset.
Funeral service will be held on Friday, Sept. 28 at 1 p.m. at chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. David Baker officiating.
Interment will be in the Lakeside Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Clayton Brumley, Greg Brumley, Justin Brumley, Dalton Brumley, Jordan Brumley and Hunter Merrick.
