John Beach
John Beach, 34, of Somerset, Ky., passed away in April 2013. 
He was born on Jan. 4, 1979 in Somerset, Ky. to Leland Beach and Joyce Burdine Watkins. John was of the old fashion Pentecostal faith and enjoyed swimming, the outdoors and camping. 
He was preceded in death by his sister, Sheila Dalton. 
He is survived by his father, Leland Beach of Somerset, Ky.; and his mother, Joyce Burdine Watkins of Ferguson, Ky.; a daughter, Katie Ellison of Somerset, Ky.; two brothers, Robert Beach and Brandon Watkins, both of Somerset, Ky.; and two sisters, Margaret Polly of Ferguson, Ky. and Stephanie Griffin of Somerset, Ky. 
Visitation will be held on Saturday, Dec. 21, 2013 after 10 a.m. in the chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home. 
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Dec. 21, 2013 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with Bishop Cornelius Duncan officiating. 
Burial will be in the Jones Cemetery in Mt. Victory, Ky. 
Southern Oaks Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. 
 
Orville Cook
Mr. Orville Lee Cook, 97, of Somerset, Ky. departed this life on Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2013 at the McCreary Health & Rehab.
Mr. Cook is survived by five grandchildren, Stoney Lee (and Robin) Cook, Sandy Vaughn, Billy (and Jessica) Cook, Gary Cook, and Bonnie (and Rob) Rankin; eight great-grandchildren, Tracey (and Josh) Wilson, Amanda (and Chris) Espinoza, Jared Vaughn, Bethany Cook, Aaron Sawyer, Joseph Cook, Katelyn Cook and Emily Cook; two great-great-grandchildren, Allison Wilson and Clifford Levi Spradlin; and a host of relatives and friends who mourn his passing.
Mr. Cook was preceded in death by his wife, Christine Wheeler; one son, Gerald Lee Cook; one daughter, Joy Yvonne Cook; one great-grandchild, Macayla Cook; and several brothers and sisters.
Mr. Cook was a member of Duke Memorial Baptist Church and was a retired truck driver for H.T. Hackney.
A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 19, 2013 at the chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home with Bro. David Morris officiating.  
Burial will follow in the Science Hill Cemetery
The family of Mr. Orville Lee Cook will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home after 2 p.m. until time for funeral services on Thursday, Dec. 19, 2013.

Bonnie Jasper
Mrs. Bonnie Jasper, 92, of Somerset, Kentucky departed this life on Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2013 at the Hospice of Lake Cumberland Jean Waddle Care Center.
Funeral arrangements are pending and will be announced later by Pulaski Funeral Home.

Eleanor Kidd
Eleanor Rose (Phillips) Kidd, of Goshen TWP, Ohio, was born on Oct. 5, 1927 in Somerset, Ky. She passed peacefully on Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2013 at the age of 86. 
She was the beloved wife of the late Theodore Kidd; loving mother of T. Ronald Kidd and Theresa Ann Fitzgerald; mother-in-law of Mike Fitzgerald; grandmother of Michael T., Ron Dennis and Jeremy Fitzgerald; great-grandmother of five; great-great-grandmother of two; dear sister of Virginia Lee (Phillips) Phillippi; and loving aunt of Cindi Salley, Kent and Scott Phillippi. 
Eleanor was a Life Member and organist at Goshen Order of Eastern Star Chapter 382. She retired as a seamstress from JC Penney Eastgate. 
Funeral services in Goshen will be on Friday, Dec. 20 at 7 p.m. at Tufts Schildmeyer Funeral Home, 1668 St. Rt. 28, Goshen, Ohio, where visitation will be from 5 p.m. until the time of services. 
Visitation will also be held at Somerset Undertaking Company, 113 N. Main St., Somerset, Ky., on Monday, Dec. 23, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. 
Burial will follow at Lakeside Memorial Gardens, Somerset, Ky.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations my be made to the American Cancer Society, American Heart 
Association or to Cincinnati Children's Hospital.

Harold Marshall
Harold Thomas Marshall, 74, of the Piney Grove community, Somerset, Ky., passed away Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2013 at UK Medical Center in Lexington, Ky. 
He was born on Oct. 8, 1939 in Loraine, Ohio to the late William and Lavonne McQuire Marshall. He was a retired steel worker and of the Catholic faith and proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching ball games and golf on television. 
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Chuck Marshall. 
He is survived by his wife, Debra Sellers Marshall, whom he married on Aug. 22, 1998 in Loraine, Ohio; six sons, Tom (Pam) Marshall of Tenn., Raymond (Kim) Marshall of Texas, Eric (Donna) Marshall of Colo., Matt (Wendy) of Ill., Travis Loveless of Somerset, Ky. and Paul Loveless of Somerset, Ky.; four daughters, Theresa Klein of Colo., Tina (Charles) Reed of Ohio, Lavonne (Dale) Eubank of Miss. and Amanda Raney of Somerset, Ky.; one brother, Bill (Emma) of Ohio; 30 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. 
Also surviving are Art and Elvetta Wood of Elyria, Ohio, who are like family to him. 
Graveside services will be held Friday, Dec. 20, 2013 at 2:30 p.m. at Mill Springs National Cemetery in Nancy, Ky. with full military honors provided by the American Legion Post 38 Honor Guard.

Elsie Pike
Elsie Jane Pike, 75, of Nancy, Ky., departed this life on Monday, Dec. 16, 2013 at the Jean Waddle Hospice Care Center, in Somerset.
Elsie was born on June 27, 1938, in Nancy, Ky. to the late Carsie Oliver and Lucy Worley Fox. She lived and worked in Cincinnati, Ohio for over 20 years. After moving back to Kentucky in 1975, she worked for the Tecumseh Products Company for 26 years. Elsie was a member of the Tateville Baptist Church.
She loved gardening and cooking, and enjoyed quilting.
She is survived by her husband, Dillard “Eddie” Pike, whom she married in Tenn. on Aug. 15, 1980; her son, Steve (and Anita) Tucker, of Nancy, Ky.; her stepson, Christopher Edwin (and Tracey) Pike, of Jamestown, Ky.; her stepdaughter, Gina Pike, of Adair County; two brothers, Paul (and Jean) Fox and Wesley Fox, both of Nancy, Ky.; three sisters, Ruth Weddle and Gladys Molden, both of Nancy, and Tina (and Harold) Hampton, of Burnside, Ky.; a sister-in-law, Barbara Fox, of Nancy, Ky.; two grandchildren, Joshua (and Chelsea) Tucker, of Bowling Green, Ky., and Kyra Tucker, of Nancy; two step-grandchildren, Ethan Pike and Kacey Pike, both of Jamestown, Ky.; and many nieces and nephews.
Elsie was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Ernest Fox, Winfred Lonzo Fox, Richard Fox, Milford Fox and Ralph Fox, who died in infancy; and one sister, Ada Cook.
Visitation will be on Thursday, Dec. 19, 2013 at 4 p.m. for the family and 5 p.m. for friends at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.
Elsie's funeral service will be held on Friday, Dec. 20, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. James Floyd and Bro. Troy Merrick officiating. 
Interment will be in Mill Springs National Cemetery in Nancy, Ky.
The family requests expressions of sympathy can  be made to the Tateville Baptist Church Youth Group.

Larry Stokes
Larry Evan Stokes, the son of Bobby and June Cromer Stokes, was born on Jan. 3, 1956 and he departed this life on Sunday, Dec. 15, 2013 of an accidental drowning on Green River while hunting. He was 57 years of age.
He was united in marriage to Vicki Cummins Stokes on May 10, 2003 in Somerset, Ky. She survives. 
Other than his wife and parents, he is also survived by his two daughters, Emily (and Matt) Pannell of Bowling Green, Ky. and Erin (and Mark) Ketron of Elsmere, Ky.; one stepson, Rodney Todd and is fiancée, Nikki Lawson of Somerset, Ky.; four grandchildren, Daniel Ketron, Sarah Pannell, Rheagan and Rami Todd; his father and mother-in-law, Don Cummins of Mt. Vernon, Ky. and Nina Cummins of Somerset, Ky.; his aunts, Shirley Madden, Betty (and Jack) Lair, Donna (and Roy) Tincher, Judy (and Steve) Gressmire, Julia (and Jerry) Rash, Eav Mae (and Johnny) Toby; his uncles, Jimmy (and Janet) Cromer, Arthur (and Cricket) Fuson, and Jack (and Melinda) Stokes; and a host of other relatives and friends who mourn his passing.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bob and Marie Cromer, and Foster and Mavin Stokes.
Larry attended the Science Hill Nazarene Church where he was active with the worship/praise team. He was an amazing man of God who loved to testify of the miracles blessed by God, being a pancreatic cancer survivor. He was an avid sportsman and previously co-owned Midway Discount. He loved life, his family, he enjoyed making people smile, and he loved his special canine companion, Sassy, his 15 lb. white poodle.
Larry was a 1974 graduate of Somerset High School and a graduate of Sue Bennett College of London, Ky. He was a former office manger for an orthopedic office, he was minister of music at Lake Cumberland Nazarene Church and the First Church of God for many years. He was also earned the Rank of Eagle Scout and achieved the Order of the Arrow while a member of Troop 82.
The family will receive friends at the Science Hill Church of the Nazarene on Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2013 after 5 p.m.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Dec. 19, 2013 at 1 p.m. at the Science Hill Nazarene Church with Bro. Harry Varn, Bro. Gene Wells and Dr. Curtis Sellers officiating.  
Entombment will follow the funeral services at Lakeside Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers the family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Hope Lodge, The Green County Rescue Squad or the Taylor County Rescue Squad.
The family of Mr. Larry Stokes would also like to publicly acknowledge their appreciation for the rescue squads of Taylor and Green Counties and everyone else who assisted in the rescue and recovery endeavors for Larry, and for the compassion and kindness shown to the family during this time.
