Somerset — Winifer Freeman

Winifer W. Freeman, age 91 of Somerset, passed away on Friday, May 2, 2014 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife, Julia Freeman.

Arrangements for Mr. Freeman are pending.

Southern Oaks Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.

Phyllis Hill

Phyllis Hill, age 51, of Burnside, Ky. passed away on Thursday, May 1, 2014 at her residence.

She was born on June 24, 1962 in Youngstown, Ohio to the late Glenn and Dorothy Votaw Allison. Phyllis was a former cashier for Speedway North. She enjoyed fishing and motorcycle riding.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by three sons, Jimmy Hill Jr. (Christy), Timothy Hill, and Jason Hill (Morgan), all of Tateville, Ky.; four brothers, Dewayne (Paula) Leham of Ohio, Pete Leham of Fla., Jim (Marinda) Patterson of Fla., and T.A. Rolland of Ohio; four sisters, Edith (Garfield) Smith of Somerset, Ky., Judy Allison of Somerset, Ky., Debbie Rolland (Ronnie Benzenhoefer) of Ohio, and Donna Rolland of Ohio; and eight grandchildren.

She is also survived by her best friend, Lora King of Burnside, Ky.; and Josh Caudill, who was like a son.

Visitation will be held on Monday, May 5, 2014 after 6 p.m. in the chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. Perry Dobbs officiating.

Burial will follow in the Gravehill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Phyllis Hill Memorial Fund, c/o Southern Oaks Funeral Home.

Southern Oaks Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Jerry Lowery

Jerry Lowery, age 59, of Bethel, Ohio, formerly of Somerset, husband of Darlene DeWeese Lowery, father of Michelle Howard (and Andy Tomlin), and brother of Delores Haynes, of Somerset, departed this life on Thursday, May 1, 2014.  

Preceding Jerry in death were his parents, Tommie and Maggie Lowery; and brother, Jim Lowery.

Visitation will be at the E.C. Nurre Funeral Home in Amelia, Ohio on Sunday, May 4 from 6 p.m. until time of funeral services at 8 p.m.  

Masonic and Scottish Rite services will begin at 7:45 p.m.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, May 6 at 1 p.m. in Wesley's Chapel Cemetery in Somerset, Ky.
