Bessie New Keith, 90, of Ky. 790, passed away Monday, November 12, 2012, at her residence. 
She was born in the Kidder Community of Wayne County on May 8, 1922, to the late John Lewis New and Mattie Florence New. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years and loved her church family. She was a retired farmer and homemaker whom helped many people in the community and volunteered numerous hours. She also enjoyed giving hair art, painting, sewing, crafts, crocheting, and loved the outdoors, especially "gardening" and was a member of The Red Hat Club.
She is survived by daughters, Jeanette (and Starlin) Casada and Pat (and Bill) Swail, both of Bronston, Ky.; six grandchildren, Janet New, Lydia Keith, Kenny Keith, Paula Tucker, Eric Keith and Jessica Simpson; and 10 great-grandchildren, Nathan New, Hope Carter, Paige Carter, Logan Keith, Lynsey Keith, Katie Simpson, Micah Simpson, Kenny Keith, Kayla Keith, and Noelle Keith.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gainzie Horace Keith, whom she married Oct. 7, 1939, in Wayne County, Ky.; her parents; two sons, Kenneth Keith, and Glen Roy Keith, six brothers, Melvin, Robert, Coy, Elie, Joseph and Leo New; and five sisters, Jane, Orie and Bertha New, Juda Carrigan and Evelyn Keith.
Visitation will be on today after 5 p.m. at the chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home and after 12 noon Saturday, at Liberty Baptist Church until time for services.
Funeral services will be Saturday, November 17 at 1 p.m. at the Liberty Baptist Church, Kidder, Ky., with Bro. Ulanda Price officiating.
Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery, Kidder, Ky.
