Ida Burdine


Somerset — Ida M. Lyons Burdine, 64, Mays Court, Somerset, died Sunday, April 16, 2006, at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.

She was born in Somerset Oct. 16, 1941, daughter of the late Charlie and Pearlly Wilson Lyons. She was a cook and of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include her husband, Von V. Burdine; four sons, David W. Lyons and Stoney L. (and Robin) Cook, both of Somerset, Gary L. Cook, Monticello, and Billy E. (and Margaret) Cook, Russell Springs; three daughters, Tina (and Kevin) Caldwell, Oklahoma, Sandy (and Bob) Vaughn, Strunk, Ky., and Bonnie (and Rob) Rankin, Nicholasville; two brothers, Robert W. Lyons, California, and Richard Lyons, Monticello; two sisters, Mary Ann George and Kay Thomas, both of Somerset; eight grandchildren, Amanda, Tracey, Jared, Bethany, Aaron, Crystal, Jennifer and Joseph; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Delmar Lyons; and four sisters, Thelma Eastham, Roberta Wilson, Lucy Dugger and Diane Martin.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 19, at the chapel of Morris and Hislope Funeral Home, Science Hill, with Bro. David Troxtell officiating.

Burial will be in Acorn Cemetery.

Friends may call after 6 p.m. today, at the funeral home.
