John Rutherford


John Martin Rutherford, age 71 of Eubank, Ky., departed this life on Monday, Oct. 29, 2012 at Select Specialty Hospital in Lexington, Ky. 
He was born on June 22, 1941 in Somerset, Ky. to the late Lewis and Geneva Smith Rutherford. He was a retired maintenance worker for Beckman and Gast Canning Co. in St. Henry, Ohio. Mr. Rutherford enjoyed building and working with wood and building furniture. He liked to walk, collect tools and he liked old movies. Mr. Rutherford was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed the simple life and listening to gospel music.
Mr. Rutherford lived a Christian life. 
He is survived by his wife, Rosemary Rutherford of Eubank, Ky.; three daughters, Connie Sue (and Wayne) Shadoan, Elsie Faye (and Mike) Silvers and Rosanna (and Scott) Rutherford, all of Somerset, Ky.; six grandchildren, Anthony Davis, Brian McGowan, Tiffany Shadoan, Mark Shadoan, Jessica Shadoan and Liam Gleason; six great-grandchildren, Emilee McGowan, Abbie McGowan, Brian McGowan II, Brilynn McGowan, Anthony Davis II and Meme Davis; and a special brother-in-law, Don Walden of Eubank, Ky.  
He was preceded in death by his parents. 
Visitation will be Friday, Nov. 2, 2012 at 12 p.m. until time for services at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home, 1046 West Highway 80, Somerset, Ky.  
Funeral services will be held on Friday, Nov. 2, 2012 at 2 p.m. at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Brother David Carr officiating. 
Burial will be in the Freedom Cemetery, Science Hill, Ky. 
Pallbearers will be Scott Gleason, Wayne Robinson, Don Walden, Brian McGowan, Jeremiah Wright and Mark Shadoan.  
The family request expressions of sympathy be made to the John Martin Rutherford Memorial Fund, c/o Lake Cumberland Funeral Home, P. O. Box 1441, Somerset, Ky. 42502.
Lake Cumberland Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements for John Martin Rutherford.
