Donald Reuben Goforth, 79, of Highland, Ill., passed away on Sunday, September 29, 2013 at the St. Joseph's Hospital in Highland, Ill.
He was born on April 8, 1934 in Somerset, Ky., to the late Oscar Goforth and Mary (nee McDonald) Goforth.
Donald retired from the Federal Railroad Administration. He was a member of the American Legion and VFW and served his country faithfully in the Navy during the Korean Conflict.
Donald is survived by sons Rick (and Tina) Goforth of Highland, Ill., Tony (and Karen) Goforth of Collinsville, Ill., and Scott (and Jane) Goforth of Collinsville, Ill.; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He is also survived by sister Madge Hamilton of Somerset, Ky.
In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by four brothers, Bill, Clarence, Harry and Eugene Goforth, and two sisters, Sophia Lewis and Christine Snyder and his beloved pup Mitzi.
Visitation for Donald will be held Tuesday, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Richeson Funeral Home in Troy, Ill., and Thursday, October 3, 2013 from 9 to 11 a.m. at the chapel of Somerset Undertaking & Crematory.
A celebration honoring the life of Donald will be held Thursday, October 3, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the chapel of Somerset Undertaking & Crematory.
Interment will be at Mill Springs National Cemetery in Nancy, Ky.

Glenn Roy, 77, of Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away Sunday, September 29, 2013.
He is survived by a brother, Lewis Roy; a sister, Imogene Ashley; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Nancy and Edgar Roy; siblings, Pauline Perkins, Lawrence Roy, Clarence Roy, and James Roy; and four infant brothers and sisters.
A funeral service will be held at 12 noon, Thursday, October 3, 2013 at Bethelridge United Methodist Church.
Burial will be in Bethelridge Cemetery.
A visitation will be held after 11 a.m. Thursday, October 3, 2013 at Bethelridge United Methodist Church.
