Somerset — Nellie Audas

Nellie Ethel Audas, 93, of Dayton, Ohio, died Friday October 18, 2013.

She was born on September 26, 1920 in Shopville, Ky., graduating from Shopville High School in 1939. Nellie married Virgil Audas on December 6, 1941 in Somerset, Ky. She worked for Delco Moraine  etiring after 30 yrs of service.

Nellie was a member of Flat Lick Baptist Church, Moraine Senior Citizens, Delco Moraine Campers Club, and the General Motors 25 year Club. She enjoyed crocheting, cooking, and spending time with her

family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Virgil Audas, parents Orville and Lottie Vaught, and brothers Lenard, Denton, and Raymond Vaught.

Survivors include her sisters Christine Rudd of South Carolina, Faye Williams and Mildred Smiley of Dayton, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at the Tobias Funeral Home-Far Hills Chapel, 5471 Far Hills Ave at Rahn Rd. Pastor Stephen Spurgin officiating.

Interment in Calvary Cemetery.

Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Donations may be made in her memory to The Hospice of Dayton 324 Wilmington Ave Dayton, Ohio 45420.

Florence Cooper

Florence Cooper, 88, of Somerset, Ky., passed away Monday, October 21, 2013 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.

Arrangements are pending and will be announced later by Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.

Rachel Lay

Rachel Kathryn Lay, 89, of Carroll, Ohio and formerly of Somerset, Ky., passed away on Saturday, October 19, 2013.

Visitation for Rachel Kathryn Lay will be held on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Freedom Worship Center in Somerset, Ky., with her funeral service to follow at 12 p.m. at Freedom Worship Center with Pastor Ron Cathers officiating.  

Entombment will be Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at Lakeside Memorial Gardens.

Loyd Roy

Loyd T Roy, 82, from Sharonville, Ohio, died on Saturday, October 19 from complications from Alzheimers.  

He was born July 12, 1931 in Pulaski County at King Bee, Ky. He is survived by his loving wife, Virginia (Cosner); daughters Diana (and Bruce) Rothenbach, Donna (and Steve) Carr, and Robin (and Rex) McAllister; grandchildren David, Brittany, Shelby and Abigail Carr and Mindy (and Joe) McAllister and Misty (and fiancé Sean Falkenstein) McAllister; great-grandson Colt McAllister; brother William Denvil Roy and sister-in-law Connie Roy; and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Jordan Roy and Mary Liza (and Dick) and

siblings Retta Roy, Elza (and Ruby) Roy, Ilene (and Larry) Pittman, Thelma (and Jesse) Burnett, Marie (and Noble) Petrey, Imogene (and Donald) Hall and Albert Roy and sister-in-law Margie Roy.

Visitation begins at 9:30 a.m. until the funeral service at 11:30 a.m. and will be held at Tri-County Baptist Church located at 8195 Beckett Road in West Chester, Ohio on Wednesday, October 23, 2013.

Donations can be given in lieu of flowers to Hospice of Cincinnati or the Missions Fund at Tri-County Baptist Church.



Callis Thomas

Callis A. Thomas, 77, of Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away on Friday, October 18, 2013 at his residence.  

Funeral arrangements are pending at this time.

Billy Joe Wright

Billy Joe Wright, 80 years, of Somerset, Ky., died October 17, 2013 at his home. 

 He was born in Yamacraw, Ky., on November 4, 1932 the son of the late Wilburn and Minnie (and Keith) Wright. He was a truck driver, member of the Denham Street Baptist Church, and loved to fish, hunt, gardening, and loved the outdoors.

 His parents and brothers and sisters, Cleo Wright, James Wright, Gladys Wright, Irene

Storie, Hazel Adams, Madeline Wright, Glenna Nolan, Bob Wright, Dean Wright, and Bennie Wright, precede him in death.

 Survivors include his wife, Jessie Ball Wright; sons, Gary Wright of Elsmore, Ky., and Steve Wright (and wife Judy) of Somerset, Ky.; daughters Brenda Massengale (and husband Ken) of Pine Knot, Ky., Patty Cassada (and husband Larry) of Sidney, Ohio, and Teresa Murphy (and husband Bill) of Summerfield, Fla. Twelve grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren also survive.

 Funeral services were held Saturday, October 19, 2013 at 11 a.m. in the McCreary County Funeral Home with Bro. Jerry Frye and Rev. Jeff Griffith officiating.

 Burial was in the Wright Cemetery.

Dianna Young

Dianna J. Young, 64, of the Bronston Community passed away Sunday October 20, 2013 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.

She was born on August 26, 1949 in Somerset, Ky., to Earl Randolph and Audrey Wesley Gibson.

Dianna was of the Baptist faith and an artist. She enjoyed her children, grandchildren, painting pictures and flower gardening.

She is survived by her mother; her husband, Paul "Ervin" Young, whom she married on October 4, 1982 in Scott Coounty, Tenn.; three sons, Brian (and Jackie) Vaught of Somerset, Ky., James Young of Bronston, Ky., and Jason Young of Somerset, Ky.; one daughter, April Kutey of Mishwaka, Ind.; one brother, Bro. William Lester (and Clara) Randolph of Bethelridge, Ky.; one aunt, Geraldine (and Othel) Dick of Science Hill, Ky.; two uncles, James Curtis (and MaryAnn) Wesley of Bethelridge, Ky., and

Eulise (and Sue) Wesley of Bethelridge, Ky.; one step-brother, Tim (and Anna) Grisby of Science Hill, Ky.; and eight grandchildren, Zachary Vaught, John Paul Vaught, Faith Vaught, Graham Vaught, Sarah Young, Cameron Young, Jacob Young and Bethany Young.

She is preceded in death by her father and one brother, Montey Ray Randolph.

Visitation will be held today after 6 p.m. in the Remembrance Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday October 23, 2013 at 1 p.m. in the Remembrance Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. Jason Young and Bro. Lester Randolph officiating.

Burial will follow in the Lizzard Lope Cemetery.
