Joe Pittman


Joe Pittman, age 84 of Nancy, Ky., passed away on March 18, 2013 at the Thomson-Hood Veterans Home in Wilmore, Ky. He was the son of Achillus M. and Rosa Sumpter Pittman.   
He is survived by one son, Michael Joe Pittman of Ore.; grandkids, Trevor, T.J. and McKenzie, all of Ore.; three sisters, Gladys Mounce, Ruth Turner and Edith Jasper; and two brothers, Raymond Pittman and Delmer Sumpter.  
He was preceded in death by his parents, Achillus M. Pittman and Rosa Sumpter Pittman; three half-brothers, Columbus, Shelva and Oda Pittman; a sister, Nellie Roy; and one half-sister, Bess Hines.  
He served in the U. S. Army. Joe was a member of the Nobles of the Muster Shriner and 32 Masons of Royal Secret, the ancient and accepted Scottish Rite, Nancy, Ky. He was a member of Cedar Point Church.  
Visitation will be Wednesday, March 20, 2013 after 10 a.m. with his funeral service to follow at 1 p.m. at the chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.
Interment will be in the Mill Springs National Cemetery in Nancy, Ky.
Brother Murrell Crockett and Brother Gilbert Robinson will officiate.
American Legion Post #38 Honor Guard will conduct full military honors.
