Helen Kopp


Helen Dorothea Sophia (Meyer) Kopp, age 94 of Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away March 18, 2013 at Somerset Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility in Somerset, Ky. 
Helen was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on Feb. 25, 1919, the daughter of the late Herman and Lena (Bick) Meyer. Helen attended Winton Place School and Hughes High School in Cincinnati, Ohio. In 1942 she married Robert “Bob” Kopp, they were married 45 years. Helen retired from General Electric in Evendale, Ohio at age 68 after 24 years of service.
After retirement Helen took great pleasure in spending time with her family and watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow up. She enjoyed playing golf, walking, taking trips with her sister Alice and her friends Marge and Elsie, and was always working on a jigsaw puzzle in her spare time.
She is survived by two daughters, Karen and (Bob) Waddle of Somerset, Ky., and Judy and (Sam) Savchuk of Kettering, Ohio; three grandchildren, Michelle (Dennis) Dalton, Christian Ward, and Corey (Heather) Ward; and six great-grandchildren, Sean Dorgan, Miranda Dorgan, Lena Dick, Jack Ward, Max Ward, Andrew Ward.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Kopp; sister, Alice Stevenson; and grandson, Wayne Benjamin.
The family thanks Somerset Nursing and Rehab and The Neighborhood for Helen’s wonderful care over the last several years.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2013 at 9 a.m. at Strawser Funeral Home, 9503 Kenwood Road, Blue Ash, Ohio 45242, with burial following at Oak Hill Cemetery, 11200 Princeton Pike, Glendale, Ohio, 45246.
The family request expression of sympathy be made to Hospice of Lake Cumberland, 100 Parkway Drive, Somerset, Ky., 42503, or the charity of your choice.
