Somerset — Dessie Hines

Dessie Jane Hines, age 90, a former resident of Pulaski County, Ky., passed away on Thursday, Dec. 5, 2013 at the Hosparus Inpatient Unit of Norton Hospital in Louisville, Ky.  

Dessie  was born in Nancy, KY on October 10, 1923, the daughter of the late Laco and Effie Frances Anderson Trimble. She was united in marriage to the late Brent Ray Sumpter on April 7, 1941 and

later married the late James G. “Bud” Hines on April 27, 1979. She was a housewife and member of the Louisville Baptist Temple.  

Dessie is survived by four children, Paul Eugene Sumpter (Sherry), Madeline Carol Barnes, Judy E. Norfleet (Larry) all of Louisville, Ky. and Betty Holloway (Sam) of Maysville, Ky.; and one sister, Maxine Fuller of Louisville, Ky.

Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and 12 Great-Great Grandchildren.

Visitation for Dessie will be Monday, Dec. 9, 2013 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the chapel of Somerset Undertaking and Crematory.  

A celebration honoring the life of Dessie will follow at 1 p.m. with Rev. Tony Liess officiating.

Interment will be at Lakeside Memorial Gardens.

Georgia Toney

Georgia Juanita Toney, age 92 of Burnside, Ky., passed away Thursday, Dec. 5, 2013 at her residence.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013 after 5 p.m. in the chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, Dec. 8, 2013 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. Roger Dykes officiating.

Burial will be in the Tateville Cemetery.

Southern Oaks Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
