Jonathan Pickerell

Somerset, Ky — Jonathan Tyler Pickerell, age 18 of Somerset, departed this life on Friday, May 7, 2010 in Somerset.

He was born on Oct. 7, 1991 in Bowling Green, Ky., the son of Cary Pickerell and Mary Elizabeth Parsons Pickerell.

He was a senior at Southwestern High School and worked for Dunham’s Sporting Good Store in Somerset. Tyler was a member of the Southwestern Football Team and previously on the Southwestern Track Team. Everyday started at 5:30 a.m., working out in the weight room, and his plans were to attend Eastern Kentucky University and become a nurse. He enjoyed hunting, the water, kayaking, and was an outdoorsman. Tyler attended Victory Christian Fellowship.

Tyler is survived by his parents, Cary Pickerell and Mary Elizabeth Parson Pickerell; two brothers, Cary Morris Pickerell Jr. of Somerset and James Michael Pickerell of Lexington, Ky.; grandparents, Thelma Earlyne Pickerell of Dayton, Fla. and Elizabeth Ann Tooley of Tompkinsville, Ky.; two uncles, Walter (and Teresa) Parsons of Stanford, Ky. and Tim Pickerell of Dayton, Fla.; and several cousins.

Visitation for Tyler will be Monday, May 10 from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Victory Christian Fellowship Church, Oak Hill Road, Somerset.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, May 11 at the Victory Christian Church with Pastor Mark Harrell and Coach Dale Anderson officiating. Burial will be in the Summer Shade Cemetery in Summer Shade, Ky. Pallbearers for Tyler will be Cary Morris Pickerell Jr., James Michael Pickerell, John Michael Davis, Dustin Powell, and Daulton Wilson.

The family requests expressions of sympathy be made to "Pick the Right Choice," 1765 WTLO ROAD, Somerset, Ky., 42503.

Arrangements for Jonathan Tyler Pickerell are entrusted to Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.
