Relay for Life holds wrap-up meeting, awards ceremony

Relay For Life of Pulaski County held their wrap-up meeting and awards ceremony recently at the Lake Cumberland Cancer Treatment Center.
This year’s Relay For Life exceeded their goal of $140,000 and thanks the community for supporting the event.
This year’s awards included:
Top Fund-raising Team, third place, Citizens National Bank, $5,686.03
Top Fund-raising Team, second place, Team Merrick, $6,667.50
Top Fund-raising Team, first place, Wal-Mart, $10,155
Rookie Team, Armstrong Wood Products
Top Online Fund-raising Team, Armstrong Wood Products
School Spirit, Burnside Elementary School
Spirit of Relay, Nancy Melton, Relay for Life committee member
Team Challenger jackets were presented to Debbie Floyd for recruiting Team Tapp and Annie Sims for recruiting Tri-Generations team.
Relay For Life of Pulaski County will have many fun activities throughout the year. Volunteers will be at Dairy Queen on Tuesday, July 22, from 6-8 p.m. and invite the community to join them.
Dairy Queen will donate 10 percent of their sales during that time to Relay For Life.
In addition, the popular show, Elvis Lives On, will be performed at Cruiser’s Showcase on Saturday, July 26, at 8 p.m. Tickets are $25 per person. Proceeds will benefit Relay For Life.
