Local Realtors raise more than $3,000 for ACS Relay for Life

Somerset — Members of the Somerset-Lake Cumber-land Association of Realtors raised more than $3,500 this year for the American Cancer Society Relay for Life.

More than $2,800 of that amount was raised during their annual Relay for Life Auction, held at the monthly full membership meeting in May.

Each May, Realtors bring and bid on a variety of items, with all proceeds going to the ACS Relay for Life.

During the past several years, many local real estate offices have donated baskets for the auction. Most baskets have a “theme” – a lot of thought, cost and preparation are put into this effort.

Brooke Cary, the local ACS representative, was present for the auction, and expressed appreciation to the Realtors and affiliates for their generous donation.

Cancer has affected nearly every family, and the family of local Realtors is no exception. The Somerset-Lake Cumberland Association of Realtors hopes to continue this tradition in years to come.
