Sarah Eads & Christopher Adkins Jr. united in marriage

Sarah Ellen Eads, Somerset, and Christopher Neile Adkins Jr., Somerset, were united in marriage at 2 p.m. May 17, 2008, at First United Methodist Church, Somerset.
The officiants were Ben Stein, Somerset, and Brandon Vetter-Mitchell, South Dakota.
The bride was given in marriage by her father, Dr. David Eads.
The bride’s dress was made by European Bridal of Reading, Ohio.
The sweetheart satin neckline extended to the waist in back and the form-fitting bodice was covered in platinum, backed by Swarovski crystals and beads.
The satin gown and train ended in a heart-shaped design, also covered in crystal beads.
The bride’s veil, a gift from a special great-aunt, Ann Rice of Centerville, Ohio, was fingertip length, edged in crystals and held in place by an antique platinum comb.
The bride wore her grandmother’s, Grace Eads, pearl necklace, a gift from her grandfather, Dr. Berry Eads, and diamond earrings, a gift from her father.
The bride also wore her grandmother’s platinum and diamond engagement ring.
She carried a bouquet of white roses with pearl and white satin trim.
The bridesmaids included Emily Fox, Somerset; Ginny Henderson, Somerset; Vanessa Kennedy, Somerset; Lauren Redding, Frankfort; Ronia Repenning, Lubeck, Germany; and Rebekah Stein, Somerset.
The bridesmaids wore tea-length black dresses with pink sashes and pink shoes. They carried white bouquets of miniature roses and hydrangeas.
Miss Grace Eads, Louisville; Miss Molly Higgins, Somerset; and Johanna Stein, Somerset, were the flower girls.
Zachariah and Nathanel Stein, Somerset, served as acolytes.
Groomsmen included Brad Berryhill, Tuttle, Okla.; Brandon Padgett, Malvern, Ariz.; Marty Henderson, Somerset; Brian Adams, Butler, Ky.; Logan Botzman, Somerset; Danny Clark, Somerset; and Chris Hogg, Flatwoods, Ky.
John Eads, Somerset, was head usher; and ushers included Andrew Hillard, Elizabethtown, Ky., and John Girdler, Somerset.
Joshua Stein, Somerset, the ring bearer, carried a handmade pillow by Henrietta Nichols which was made of Venetian lace, a gift from the bride’s mother, and fastened with an ivory button from her great-grandmother’s 1920’s button collection.
The honeymoon car was a 1965 red convertible Mustang with white leather interior and was provided by a friend of the family, Alton Blakley Jr.
Miss Kathleen Sams, Somerset, and Miss Catherin Clark, Walton, Ind., kept the bridal registry.
A personal shower was held at the home of Mrs. Janice Kennedy and Miss Vanessa Kennedy.
A Christmas shower was held at the home of Mrs. Carrie Wiese and co-hosted by Mrs. Sarah Dixon, godmother of Sarah Ellen.
A Paula Deen household shower was hosted by Nancy Thayer at her home and co-hosted by Mrs. Donna Eastham.
A couple’s shower was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. George Joplin IV and given by the Joplins, Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Venters and Mr. and Mrs. John Polk.
The bridal luncheon was held at the home of Mrs. Dale Crockett and co-hosted by Mrs. Carrie Altmaier, Mrs. Brenda Roback and Mrs. Jeanne Kovacs.
The rehearsal dinner was held at the church and hosted by the groom’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Christopher N. Adkins Sr.
A bridal party and luncheon was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Henderson.
The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. David M. Eads, Somerset.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Christopher Adkins Sr., Somerset.
Their wedding destination was St. Helena Island, S.C.
They are residing in Somerset.
