Turpen & Griffin announce engagement, forthcoming wedding

Somerset — Mr. and Mrs. William P. Turpen announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Gretchen Lynn Turpen, to Brock Patrick Griffin.

Brock is the son of Tim and Sandy Matthews and Stephen and Andrea Griffin, all of Jacksonville, Florida.

Miss Turpen is a graduate of Somerset High School and Vanderbilt University where she received a bachelor of engineering.

Miss Turpen worked for the Department of State as a physical security engineer for the Diplomatic Security Service in Washington, D.C.

Gretchen now resides in Nashville, Tennessee, where she is employed as a senior development manager with Lend Lease, Public-Private Partnerships.

Mr. Griffin is a graduate of Middleburg High School and attended Northern Virginia College.

He also served our country in the United States Marine Corps where he was a platoon leader with the Fleet Anti-Terrorism Security Team (FAST) Company.

Brock has worked for the United States Department of State as a construction security operations manager and recently moved to Nashville where he is a senior project manager with JK Logistical Operations.

Miss Turpen is the granddaughter of Beatrice Prather Turpen and the late Ralph “Jack” Turpen of Somerset. She is also the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles W. Cassady of Bowling Green, Kentucky.

Mr. Griffin is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Spears and the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Griffin, all of Jacksonville, Florida.

The wedding will take place February 4, 2012, in the Baskin Chapel of Brentwood Baptist Church, located in Brentwood, Tennessee.

A reception will follow at Richland Country Club in Brentwood.
