BREAKING NEWS: Prominent Somerset attorney shot dead

Police: Stanziano ambushed in front of his office

Somerset —

A Pulaski County defense attorney died Friday morning  after being shot “multiple times” by a man he refused to help with “problems,” police say.
At about 9:20 a.m. Mark Stanziano, 57, was shot at least four times outside his office on West Mount Vernon Street, according to SPD Capt. Shannon Smith.
The suspect, Clinton Inabnitt, lived nearly across the street from Stanziano’s office and appeared to have waited outside Stanziano’s office for him, Smith said.
Det. John Hutchinson saw the incident, but was unable to intervene, and immediately took Inabnitt into custody. Police recovered a 9mm semi automatic handgun at the scene that had been fired at least seven times, said Smith.
Stanziano was transferred to the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital to be treated for gun shot wounds mainly to the torso, but was quickly pronounced dead when he arrived there, Smith said.
Inabnitt had approached Stanziano Thursday evening, requesting help with “problems he was having.” No other details were released about the conversation, but Smith said that Inabnitt did threatened Stanziano at that time.

Inabnitt has been charged with murder and is lodged at the Pulaski County Detention Center.
