FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) — Kentucky first lady Britainy Beshear and Lt. Gov. Jacqueline Coleman have announced a new campaign to encourage donations of face coverings to school districts.
The Coverings for Kids campaign was unveiled to school district leaders Tuesday afternoon during a webcast with superintendents. School districts will set up mask donation centers and appoint local coordinators.
“As a mom, nothing is more important to me than protecting each one of Kentucky’s children, as well as the teachers and staff who work hard every day to help them learn and grow,” Beshear said.
Starting on Aug. 11, drop off donations can be done at district-level donation centers. More information about the campaign can be found on FirstLady.ky.gov/CoveringsForKids.
