A Somerset man was airlifted to the University of Kentucky Medical Center following an accident that occurred approximately half a mile south of Somerset at the intersection of South US 27 and Slate Branch Road, on Friday night.

According to the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department, Charles L. Bolin, 53, White Oak Circle, Somerset, was operating a 1993 Subaru southbound on U.S. 27 when he lost control of his vehicle and struck a curb. After, the initial impact, Bolin’s vehicle overturned on the roadway.

Bolin was extricated from his vehicle by the Somerset/Pulaski County Rescue Squad.

He was then treated at the scene by the Somerset Fire/EMS and flown to the University of Kentucky Medical Center by LifeNet.

Assisting at the scene was the Parkers Mill Fire Department.
