Dear Editor:

Our family recently learned that you can live in this community for many years without being aware of just how effective our emergency services operate.

On Monday, Feb. 6, our beloved husband and father, Charles C. “Charlie” Adams, who is suffering from Alzheimer’s, ventured out into the cold, dark night at approximately 9 p.m.

The response from the Pulaski County Public Safety Office, Somerset Fire/EMS, Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office, Somerset Police Department, Pulaski County Rescue Squad, Pulaski County Special Response Team and the Area 12 EM Director was rapid, well-coordinated and comprehensive.

With time being of the essence because of the extreme temperatures, their efforts were heroic. We were impressed, and comforted, by the level of service provided.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to the successful search. We were touched by your expressions of relief once Charlie was found.

Sincerely,

Norma Adams
