Three local high school baseball players were named to the Kentucky High School Baseball Coaches Association All-State Team.
Somerset High School sophomore Kade Grundy and Southwestern High School Jeffrey Madden were named to the second team All-State, while Southwestern High School senior Ethan Jones was named All-State Honorable Mention.
Grundy had a .471 batting average, scored 51 runs, drove in 21 runs and hit seven home runs. Grundy 4-1 pitching record, held a 1.84 ERA and recorded 67 strikeouts.
Madden had a .378 batting average scored 22 runs, drove in 30 runs , and hit two home runs. Madden had a perfect 5-0 pitching record, with a 1.36 ERA, and recorded 80 strikeouts.
Jones had a .471 batting average, scored 23 runs drove in 32 runs and hit two homers. Jones had 231 putouts at the catcher position.
