The 2007 version of the Kentucky Speedweek is fast approaching for the drivers of the O’Reilly NARA Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series.

The Speedweek will make a scheduled stop at the Lake Cumberland Speedway in Burnside, Kentucky on Thursday night May 31st after they complete three previous events earlier in the week.

The Speedweek opens up on Sunday night May 27th at the Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio racing for $3,000 as the top prize in the First Annual Owen Stephens Memorial. Night # 2 will take the BoB boys to the Bluegrass Motor Speedway in Bardstown, Kentucky on Memorial Day, Monday May 28th. The series will then move south to the Richmond Raceway in Richmond, Kentucky on Tuesday night May 29th racing for $3,000 to win before taking a night off on Wednesday May 30th to prepare for a stop at Lake Cumberland Speedway the following night.

The Night # 4 trek to Lake Cumberland Speedway in Burnside, Kentucky will also feature a complete show for the O’Reilly NARA Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series racing for $3,000 to the winner on Thursday night May 31st. The final Battle of the Bluegrass Series sanctioned event in the Speedweek will be on Friday June 1st at the Larry Yantz promoted Ponderosa Speedway in Junction City, Kentucky as the purse will also pay $3,000 to the winner.

The Speedweek finale event is on Saturday night June 2nd at the Florence Speedway in Union, Kentucky as the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series takes to the track racing for $10,000 to win.

Last year Greg Johnson of Bedford, Indiana took the $3,000 event win at the Kentucky Lake Motor Speedway in Calvert City, Kentucky on Memorial Day and never looked back in route to the Kentucky Speedweek Championship. This years champion will receive $2,500 or a provisional starting spot in the prestigious North-South 100 at the Florence Speedway in Union, Kentucky which will commence in August.

The Speedweek event at the Lake Cumberland Speedway on Thursday night May 31st will also feature a complete racing program for the Open Wheel Modifieds, Road Hogs, Chevettes, and Front Runners.
