The Somerset Christian Lady Cougars upped their record to 10-1 after downing Heritage Christian Academy in volleyball last week. Somerset won the match 25-17, 25-14 and won the junior varsity match 21-8, 21-14.

The Lady Cougars were led by Briannna Briggs, Erika Napier and Karrie Beth Shadoan, who had two kills apiece. Senior Ally Maynard had three aces and a save, while Shadoan and Napier had two blocks apiece.

“Our team played very well and stepped up their performance level,” Somerset Christian coach Ronnie Warren said.

The Lady Cougars next game is Friday, Sept. 29 at 6:30 p.m., at home against top-ranked Landmark Christian Academy.
