Several local players and coaches were inducted into the 12th Region Girls Hall of Fame and will be recognized Monday, March 4, at halftime of the regional title game at Pulaski County High School gym.

The two local players to be inducted were Somerset High School's Rochelle Henderson and Pulaski County High School's Staci Acton. The three local coaches inducted were Pulaski County's Larry Hurt, Somerset's Judie Mason and Somerset's Bob Tucker.

Rochelle Henderson was the Lady Jumpers' all-time leading scorer. Henderson played eight years on the varsity squad and was their starting point guard as an eighth-grader. In 1987, Henderson was named as one of Kentucky's top 10 female high school players.

Staci Acton is the second all-time lead scorer for the Lady Maroons, Acton played on the girls' state champion team as an 8th grader. A four-year starter as a power forward, she earned All-District and All-Regional honors all four years of her high school playing career. As a junior, Acton played in the East-West All Star game and was selected to the Second-Team All-State Team by the Associated Press. As a senior, she was voted First-Team All-State by the Lexington Herald-Leader Coaches Poll, then was selected to play for the Kentucky All Stars. She also earned Honorable Mention as a McDonald's All American. Acton played all four years of her collegiate career for the Lady Cards at the University of Louisville.

Bob Tucker has been involved with Somerset High School athletics for over five decades. Tucker is Somerset's all-time winningest coach and was named the Central Kentucky Conference Coach of the Year on three separate occasions.

Larry Hurt coached the Lady Maroons' basketball team from 1975 to 1995, and 2005 to 2008. Coach Hurt won 407 games while head girls' basketball coach. His teams earned ranks in the school's history by winning five district championships and five regional championship titles. The 1981 team was the school's first-ever Kentucky High School Girls' Basketball State Champions, and was state runner-up in 1995.

Judie Mason guided Somerset to the All "A" state title in 2000 and the 12th Region title in 1998. Mason also had an All "A" state runner-up title and a 12th Region runner-up finish. Also, Mason guided the Danville Lady Ads to its first regional title in 2014.
