Somerset Christian wins district soccer title

Somerset Christian's middle school soccer team came into Thursday night's championship game with a chance to make history, and that's just what the Cougars did.

SCS defeated Northern Middle 4-1 in a high energy match to win back-to-back district championships for the first time in the school's history. In addition to winning the title, the Cougars also won the right to host the conference tournament on their home field next week.

CJ Santiago had 2 goals, Samuel Phelps and Braedon Meadows scored 1 goal each for SCS.

The conference tournament schedule is as follows:

Monday, May 20, at 6 p.m. - Corbin versus Northern Middle School

Monday, May 20 at 7:30 p.m. - Somerset Christian versus North Laurel

Tuesday, May 21 at 7 p.m. - Championship game

(All above games will be held at Somerset Christian School.).
